Slow broadband speed

I have had 100mbs broadband for about four months but I am only getting speeds of about 30mps download and about 6 upload. This is through wifi but I have no obstructions between devices and router. What should I be getting and what can I do to improve it? Even getting 50/60 Mbps would be a vast improvement.

Re: Slow broadband speed

With wireless no one can say. It depends on your device, the wireless environment, interference. Plenty of things.

If you want throughput/stability, use a wire. If you want convienience and using wireless, sacrifice those two.

Re: Slow broadband speed

Thanks for the reply but I was getting almost the same speed when I had 50mbs. There must be a better speed than I'm getting after increasing to 100mbs.

Re: Slow broadband speed

As before, it depends on the device and wireless environment.

If you were at your performance ceiling before, doesn't matter if you upgrade or not that is the highest your device/environment can handle. You could go 200Mbs, you could go 1Gbs, if you are at the wireless ceiling already it won't benefit.
