Slow broadband in peak

Hello- do VM still throttle broadband users?

My BB is so slow in the evening peaks. It gets to its specified 50mb during the day but on a evening is 1 or 2mb if I'm lucky.

I generally watched some netflix on an evening, would that be enough for the speed to be reduced?

I'm not sure what's up, I can barley load Web pages on an evening.

I've tried changing the WiFi channel but that hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Ah seems I'm not the only one with peak time speed issues.

Doesn't look like something which will be fixed quickly. I'm out of contract so will shift to Sky- never had a speed issue with them

I'm sorry that you've not posted under better circumstances, I know slow speeds can be frustrating.

 

I've checked your connection and I can see that we're currently working on a fault in your area under ref: F003539805 which is due for review on the 21st Dec. While this is on-going you may experiencing slow speeds during times when we would expect the network to be busy.

 

We don't traffic manage any downstream usage anymore, so don't worry about that.

Judging by the fact it's now Feb and virgins broadband is still shocking I'm assuming you still haven't sorted out the issue here?

God I can't wait to move so I can get rid of Virgin Media

Our next review date in Southampton has just moved out to October....

I get 75Mb during the day down to 3 Mb in the evening...

Phone 150 ask to raise a formal complaint and they will probably offer you a cash rebate....
