Slow Peak Speeds

Hi there,

Currently on a VIVID 100mb package & get slow speeds during peak times. I have ran speed tests via speedtest.net & have managed to get 100mbps. I have tried wired connection to rule out wireless problem and still no joy. Have done factory reset & tried resetting multiple times.

Speed test.net results

6124815710

The download usually sits at 1-3mbps and spikes for a few seconds at around 8mbps and drops maintaining the low end speed of 1-3mbps.

I will paste my router status below any help would be greatly appreciated Smiley Happy

Re: Slow Peak Speeds

It can take a VM mod about a week to pick up threads, and due to the way the threads are answered bumping your own thread puts you to the back of the queue again.

Your Upstream power levels are too high and one of the upstream channels is falling back to 32 QAM modulation. suggesting an upstream impairment on your connection.

You will need to contact VM for resolution, either by waiting here about a week until a VM Forum Team Member picks up the thread, or give them a call on 150 from a VM line or 0345 454 1111 for a quicker response.

How is your speed during off peak?

You may also have a contention issue as well, the VM mod would be able to check your local circuit traffic when the thread is picked up.

Re: Slow Peak Speeds

Hello WillM,

Thanks for posting and a big welcome to the forum Smiley Happy

Apologies for the connection problems, I've taken a look and i agree with griffin that your power levels are out of range.

Let's make arrangements for an engineer to call around. I'll drop you a PM (purple envelope, top right) to book you in.

Speak with you very soon,

Take care.
