Slow Broadband every evening

Hi

My broadband seems to be ridiculously slow predominantly in the evenings but sometimes at other times. I've run a test and it says everything is fine but getting very frustrated that I can't use broadband properly in evenings.
What's going on?

Call VM and ask them, there's probably a local fault due to utilisation issues, ie the network can't cope in the evenings. Good luck, you're going to need it

there is a over utilisation issues across the network everyone is getting slow speed

Using VIVID 350 Optical Fibre, Player TV, Talk Weekends

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your speeds.

 

I've run a diagnostic on your equipment and everything is looking great at the moment, no network issues and levels are all fine. I'd like to ask a few questions so we can find out what's going on:

  • Are you connecting wired or wirelessly?
  • Does it affect all devices or just one?
  • Do you get good speeds the rest of the day?

Hi

Thanks for your response. We are connected wirelessly and it affects all our devices (multiple). We sometimes get good speeds and it's predominantly the evenings or weekends it's bad - sometimes to the point of no connectivity at all. I understand it will slow during busy times but no connectivity is not what I'm paying for!

 what you describe is classic over loading the networking with full paying customers and then virgins network struggling to keep up with demand in short 'over utilisation' 'peak time demand' they have a few buzz words for it..

All i can suggest is get a wired test done because until you do (or say you have) it will be blamed on you wireless for sure.  Then contact virgin to get you monthly credit for the fault which will most likely never get fixed.
