SE4/SE14 Unacceptable Broadband Speeds

Am currently getting download speeds of around 45Mbs ... paying for 200 and have had pretty good service over the last couple of years (i.e no problem with my set-up) ... is this a result of taking on many more customers with no expansion of local infrastructural hardware?

Not happy and likely to downgrade account to reflect what Virgin can actually provide.

Any similar experiences? How can I get Virgin to improve service.

Given the facts from both of you I would say yes its because the network can't handle the load, although some diagnostics is always a good measure, so visit your router http://192.168.0.1 don't login but click router status and copy the info from downstream , upstream, network log, that was we can rule out any more simple explanations Smiley Happy

Re: SE4/SE14 Unacceptable Broadband Speeds

Oooh ... no, hang on ... this stuff ... Would be very grateful for any insight into the nature of the problem.

Think it's just too many people, now, using the cable from the Box on the street?

Re: SE4/SE14 Unacceptable Broadband Speeds

Hi Tombat,

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear you're getting poor speeds. The good news is that the stats you've posted look perfectly healthy. Unfortunately while testing your line I could see that there is a contention fault in the area under ticket F004176748. This will cause slow speeds at peak times such as evenings and weekends and is due for review 29/03/17.
