SA5 Half the bandwidth

I am only getting 100mb down when I am on a 250mb package.

No problems on my end.

Thanks

Re: SA5 Half the bandwidth

If you want staff to reply to your thread you have to leave it alone for about a week. Every time it is commented on it puts the thread to the bottom of the queue.

How are you determining your speed and is it via a wired connection?

Re: SA5 Half the bandwidth

Ok thanks for the advice.

Tested on 3 different sites, ran a tracert to see if it was my end. And I noticed when buying a new ethernet cable, so tested on 2 others just to be sure it wasn't the new cable.

Re: SA5 Half the bandwidth

Make sure the cables are cat 5e and not just cat5, it should be written on them.

Are you plugging directly in to the superhub? If not what are you plugging in to?

Cat5 is only capable of 100 mb where cat5e is capable of gigabit.

Tried cat5e and cat6.

Re: SA5 Half the bandwidth

Hi Bishdark,

Thanks for the post! I am sorry to hear about your speeds only being 100Mbps on a 200Mbps package. I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I have tested things from here and I noticed that your modem's SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) levels are too low and will require an engineer to attend and investigate things further for you.

I will send you a PM (purple envelope at the top) detailing what's required in order to proceed with making the booking. Please respond to me there and I'll get this sorted for you.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Thanks,

Adam.

Re: SA5 Half the bandwidth

Thanks for coming back to us with this information Bishdark,

Hope you don't mind me replying on behalf of Adam as he is currently away from the office at the moment.

Further to Adam's reply, I've double checked the updated equipment levels and these have improved significantly.

Are you still experiencing connectivity issues?

Speak soon,

Nat_J

Re: SA5 Half the bandwidth

Hi there no worries!

Yes. I still only get 95mbs as you can see here

Seems almost first world problem complaining as my connection hasn't dropped much, but I'm not getting what I am paying for.

Though very recently the modem was dropping ethernet connection a lot, but not wifi.

Thanks!
