Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

Hi all.  I recently upgraded from the 150MB to 200MB Gamer (200 down 20 up) Package.  I have not seen much  of an increase on the numbers I used to have.  I sit around 160mb (which is what i used to get on the 150mb no idea why)  and maybe a slight increase on the upload to 10mb.  Just looking to get some help on how to see where the problem lies.

Thanks

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

log into the SH and check the config settings - does it show 200 or is it still at 150 - if its still at 150 try a reboot - if nothing changes then something has gone wrong with the speed upgrade - if so give them a ring and ask them to resend the config file

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

Looks like you haven't been upgraded yet, or you have QoS settings enabled.

That sounds like the 150/10 package still

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

I have been "upgraded" for 2 weeks now.  Would appreciate someone looking into this for me.

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

This what I am getting.  Doesn't really deviate all that much but it isn't what I have upgraded to.

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

Primary Downstream Service Flow
Max Traffic Rate 172500000
Primary Upstream Service Flow
Max Traffic Rate 10500000

I assume it is this data, as this is the only thing I can see with traffic rate etc. So this means its not been updated?

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

it means something is odd - its neither 150 or 200 - i have no idea what it is as there are no other speeds in between - what hub do you have - some will not support 200 - but afaik if its that then the correct config file would not have been accepted

you can wait here - VM are taking a week or more to get to threads or ring retentions - they should be able to send the correct config file

dial 150 or 0345 454 1111 and follow the prompts to - you are thinking of leaving us - dont worry about that they do much more - open 'till 8pm - 6pm on saturdays - closed sunday and the plus is its a UK call centre

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

It looks like the upgraded 100Mbps to 150Mbps package. I have exactly the same config.

It looked like there was a small ninja boost from 165 to 172Mbps a few months ago that a few others on the Forum picked up.

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

Ok I took your advice tony and gave them a call.  Got to a wonderfully helpful Scottish gent (appologies I forget the name)  He helped me out and sent everything he could to the router and fixed my issue.  Seems as though it was not configured correctly.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Recently upgraded. Speeds not increased.

We don't speak of the Scottish man from swanseas name. We all know of the legend that he is though. Seems to be the chief fixer for happiness down/up there in swansea.
