Paying for 200 mb/s but only getting 30mb/s

I have checked my broadband lately and have noticed that I am only getting 30mb/s instead of 200mb/s , I did have a technician out on Thursday as the upstream power level was too low and the down stream power level was far too high , this has been adjusted at the main cabinet , yet the speed is still slow .

The technician also put a ` Wideband Attenuator ` on the back of the router , would this affect the speed ? and should I remove it ?

Re: Paying for 200 mb/s but only getting 30mb/s

Hello fellowes50

I am sorry your speeds are a slow, I wonder what is going on. Area traffic is quite low and the upstreams look error free. At the moment it looks like you may not have the hub switched on, if so and you would like us to take a look please would you leave it on and let us know in this thread so we may run some more tests.

Normally the Wideband Attenuator is fitted by the engineer to place the hub power levels within optimum range, it is not good for them to be too high or too low so probably best to leave it for the moment.

Thank you

Nicola
