Hi all. Much the same as many others here I am experiencing significantly lower speeds than expected. I live in an area that has been newly cabled/cabbed and had the VIP package installed yesterday 23/03. Initially I was getting speed test results (over wifi) of 200mb+. Later in the afternoon this dropped considerably to between 80-90mb. I spent 45 minutes on the phone to VM, isolated everything from my wired and wireless network except my PC which was booted in to Safe Mode with Networking to rule out anything leeching bandwidth. After the 45 minutes I was told to allow the line to settle for 24 hours. On testing today both wired and wireless, I was again able to get in to the high 100mbs - 200mb in the very early morning and late evening. It has now dropped back off to 90mb again.
I would really appreciate someone taking a look at my numbers and advising. I am hoping to have a resolution/answer before my cooling off period expires on the contract. It isnt really acceptable to me to receive half of what I expected for the majority of the time.
I'm sorry to see you are experiencing slow broadband speeds during the evenings.
I've checked your connection for any issues and the line/hub have come back as fine. I was unable to detect any faults on the network that would cause this.
If you can, the next time you notice the change in speeds complete a speed test whilst the Hub is in modem mode and the PC/laptop in Safe Mode with Networking, to see if there is a difference please. Do you notice this on all your devices? Does it happen every evening?
