Need to reset hub to get full speed. WHy?

When all is working properly, I get speeds of nearly 200mbps.  However every week or two, I realise that the speed has slowed to a crawl.  Sometime down to single figures.  If I reset the modem, the speed goes back up to over 180mbps.  I have the SuperHub2 in modem mode with a separate Asus wireless router

Why is this?  Can something be done to stop the slow down happening?

Thanks

 Which Asus router is it?

The router is RT-N66U. Resetting the router makes no difference to the speed. Only when I unplug power from the "SuperHub" and re-power does the speed get restored
Thanks

Re: Need to reset hub to get full speed. WHy?

There IS an issue with SHUB1 and latency build up but thats router mode.

What could be happening is your upstream power levels are rising over time becuase your HUB is struggling to "talk" to the CMTS

Can you post power levels and network logs now, and again before you reset when latency rises?

Go to your Superhub Log in screen

Do NOT log in.

Little button top right.....

Can you post Upstream, Downstream and Network logs.

Screen caps are nice, C&P will do- Don't stress about formatting if you C&P.

Here are the screenshots.  I can see that there is SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync until I rebooted.  Is this the cause of my problems?

Thanks for your input

Most likely. Not so much a cause as a symptom, its not able to get talking to CMTS right.  Ill flag for staff to get a look at for you.

The staff should know that I had an engineer here a few months ago and they increased the voltage on the cable (whatever that means) and that was meant to fix the problem

Re: Need to reset hub to get full speed. WHy?

Hey Tudorwatcher,

Thanks for getting in touch, hope you're well Smiley Very Happy

Sorry to hear about the difficulties you're having with your Superhub, something is right here.

You SNR levels appear to be fluctuating and your Superhub isn't generating readings correctly.

I'll drop you a PM (purple envelope, top right) to make arrangements to resolve this.

Speak with you soon,

Take care.

Re: Need to reset hub to get full speed. WHy?

Thanks to Heeather's input, have now had an engineer visit. He came with instructions to upgrade the hub from Superhub 2 to Superhub 3. The SH3 takes quite a long time to get onto the network and do its thing when I reset into modem mode. However, all well so far (24 hours later)
