Massive speed drop at peak times (Rotherham S65)

Im experiencing huge drop in speed during peak times every day. Im on vivid 200 but at peak times my speed drops to around 5-10 meg. Is anyone else having these same issues. Its very frustrating when im paying for 200 meg but getting nothing even close.

Here is a speed test I have just done.

Re: Massive speed drop at peak times (Rotherham S65)

I have also done various speed tests out of peak time and the best I have seen on a wired conection was around 85 meg so still no where near the 200 im supposed to be getting.

Re: Massive speed drop at peak times (Rotherham S65)

It wouldn't bother me that much if it was a drop of say 50%, but to drop as low as 5-10 meg is terrible. Will virgin ever do anything about this? if its been going on for a year then it sounds like they won't.

Re: Massive speed drop at peak times (Rotherham S65)

ReturnofJim. Its something that takes time to organize and plan. Yes it seems like it takes longer than it should but it would take some lengthy time at the very least.

You say you've never seen higher than 85Mbs though. What time of day is that? If its early morning then I would be leaning towards some form of hardware issue (network card adapter not being a gigabit adapter or its settings not set to full duplex for example, or even just a shoddy cable) blocking you getting the full 200Mbs in offpeak times. What colour is the light on the back of the superhub when you are doing those ~85Mbs tests?
