Low speed

Help I'm paying for 50mps broadband but when I do a test I'm getting between 17 and 27 speeds when I'm streaming it keeps buffering, tried ringing virgin and can never get through

I've located your account and I can see an issue with the network in your area affecting speeds at peak times - Ref.(F004966276) . Our technicians are working to get this resolved as soon as possible and have set a review date of 10th May.

So when I rang and spoke to a technician the other day and he said there was nothing working and was really rude to me he was just being really unhelpful and useless? Will I be compensated for this as it is an inconvenience as I'm paying for something I am not getting and it will be like this for 4 more months!?!?
