London - Area 21: ?Vivid 200 > NO !

Living in London Wandsworth Area 21, i was expecting super fast speed up to 200Mbps as advertised........

But No, during peak hours, my broadband will drop down to 10 - 25 Mbps.

Surely Virgin should do something about it especially if you pay for a service which doesn't exist.

I can see lot of similar complaints.

What should we do ? Ofcom complaint or.....

Virgin, do you have any update on your network for London Area 21 ?

Please Help.....

Do you get the full speed (or closer to it) at off-peak times?

I'm in the same boat myself unfortunately. Well at least it mostly rules out a problem on your side of things, but just to check, are you testing via a wired connection and all that?

Someone from the forum team should be able to help you further and check if it's a local congestion problem.

Yes. Test on Wired connection.

From what you've described I'd suspect a contention fault but I've been unable to locate your account to confirm this.

Hi Waltermorel,

 

Thanks for responding with your details. I've now checked your connection and can see that there is a contention fault open under ticket F003803786. This will explain the poor speeds at peak times and is due for review 29/06/16. If you bump this thread following that date we can check on the progress of the work to fix this and get you an update.

29/06/16 ??.... If it's true, surely We should be entitled for a discount. 3 months seem a very long time. Can you please advise ? I am not very happy with this timescale
