Internet connection barely usable

Internet connection is barely usable. Page load is sooooo slooooowwwww.

 I've never experienced a connection this bad for a very long time!

 

Hub has been rebooted several times, and is hardwired to PC.

 

Speed test results

speedtest.net connecting to the servers at London Namesco:

 

Ping: 1412ms

Download: 4.13 Mbps (meant to be up to 30 Mbps)

Upload: 0.13 Mbps

 

Service status reports 'good service', but it's not good for me at the moment.

I am in an OVER UTILISED VIRGIN MEDIA AREA - poor speeds of 0.3Mbps to 4Mbps every evening.
Contention reference "F002896495", has now become F004952644.
Ongoing since March 2014. 16 review dates... Next Review JANUARY 2018

I have the same issue here when i spoke to somebody they said there was no capping of speed yet the most i can get is 8 Mbps day or night and the link in my area is not past the saturation point where they can log this as a fault to get an engineer out to look at it.

 

not sure with this company what passes as a fault these days a year ago i was getting the max speed that i paid for now I'm not even getting close to half

to both the above -

 

log into superhub - 192.168.0.1 - click router status [top right] - and post the downstream and upstream figures

download of less than 2Mbps sort this out with 24hours or i want my Months broadband subscription back as i'm not getting what i'm paying for

all my devices are hard wired to the hub, i have tried with both my laptop and desktop pc and both give the same result

Apologies for your speed issue.

 

I can see that utilisation is affecting your part of the network - ref; F002896495. Preparations are currently in progress for a network upgrade, we should have more news on this at the end of next month.

I've put notes detailing this issue on your account and you'lll be able to call in to request a credit. Just speak to Customer Services on 150 (free on a VM landline) or 0845 454 1111 (from any other phone).

 

However, this issue should only impact you at peak times, evenings & weekends. This tallies with the time of your post, but do please let us know if you're having issues at any other times and we'll investigate further.

So most of the time you're likely to want to use it and it'll take you months to sort it out ?

I wonder why mine is getting slower and slower ? are you still connecting people in my area even though it's extremely overloaded ?

I have tried speed tests at different times of the day and you are correct.

Off peak I have pings around 20ms and full 30Mbps download.

 

During peak times (such as now) I am struggling to achieve 5Mbps and pings vary widely.
