Huge latency issues, ping fluctuations

My virginmedia broadband has been experiencing huge fluctuations in ping in different times throughout the day.

Sometimes it even reaches to as high as 2000-3000ms, and this has been a problem for over a month now. We have repeatedly changed the modem with no success.

Re: Huge latency issues, ping fluctuations

Hey.

The problem is this is an ongoing issue that has been going since around August. I am not convinced that everyone in my area has had the same issue for so many months.

Thanks, Danikas

Re: Huge latency issues, ping fluctuations

Hi Danikas,

Sorry to hear that the issue is on-going.

I've checked your connection again and found that the previous fault mentioned is now closed but another was raised on 14/11/16 for SNR under ticket F004877186. This fault is due to close 21/11/16.

Looking at the rest of your connection everything looks healthy. Once the fault has cleared we can take another look if you're still having issues.

Speak soon Smiley Very Happy

Josh

Re: Huge latency issues, ping fluctuations

I have the same issue with very variable ping response times - sometimes over 6 seconds !

Setting up monitoring on think broadband suggests a regular problem as per below.

This would explain the dropouts in VOIP I've been having regularly and also all my son's complains about lag in games.

Re: Huge latency issues, ping fluctuations

It is past 21/11/16 and I am still suffering from these huge latency issues. At this time, 22:48PM, when pinging google.co.uk the average ms is 455. We really need this to stop as it is affecting our daily life.

Thanks, Danikas
