Re: Higher latency

Hi SouthWalesChris

Thanks for taking the time to post on the community.

My apologies that you are experiencing high latency.

I've taken a look at your connection, the power levels are within range, the traffic and SNR is running stable. There was a fault in your area on the day you posted that was causing intermittent connection, which has since been closed down.

Are you still getting high latency? If so are you able to set up a Broadband Quality Monitor please for us to check it over? If you do create a BQM profile, you will need to disable the firewall within the Hub 3.0 for it to work.

Hope to hear from you soon

Sam

Re: Higher latency

Hi Samantha here is my graph and still suffering increased latency.

The increased latency has only been since they increased to 20 downstreams from 16 and increased upstreams from qam16 to 64.  Its even affecting download speed the max i can now get is 24mb which is very poor.

Re: Higher latency

Hi SouthWalesChris,

Thanks for getting back to me and posting your BQM graph, I appreciate it.

Looking at the network again, I am unable to see any reason for the packet loss/high latency. If you can let me know a few more details just to help me further that would be great.

For me to understand a little more of your connection, have you got your own router attached to the Hub 3.0 at all?

If so, is the PC/laptop connected directly to your own equipment?

Do you get the same download speed on another device?

Have you tried a speedtest direct to the Hub to see if there is a difference?

I understand if you have already tried some of the things mentioned above.

Speak soon

Sam

Re: Higher latency

Hi Sam.  I think this had to have been an area issue.

My internet along with most of my neighbours was going on and off for a few hours a few nights back, since then the problem seems fixed.

Thanks again

Chris
