Does anyone hit their target speed? I dont..

Hi there.

I've just built a new PC ( previously had an old laptop) Didnt really bother reporting the reduced speeds I was getting on the WIFI due to the crap hardware.

The new PC is top spec and is wired directly into the router with a CAT7 cable.

My speed maxes out at 110, no matter what time of day. I know its the network because when I first had it installed I was getting 160 meg on a 150 meg connection so its possible in my house.

How do I go about reporting this so it can be investigated?

According to my account i've been upgraded, so do you think this is an error at Virgins end and they've not actually done it?

Thanks for the help by the way

Re: Does anyone hit their target speed? I dont..

The speed test does look like a 100Mbps tier connection.  Might be worth posting your hubs config to confirm if you are on 100Mbps or 150Mbps.

If you go to http://192.168.100.1/ to get the VM hub GUI. Don't login but instead click on Router Status which is either a button in the top right of the screen or a text link at the bottom of the screen depending on which hub you have. Click on the Operation Configuration section and copy & paste the figures for the Max Traffic Rate for Primary Downstream and Primary Upstream Flow.

That is the config for a 100Mbs connection so that explains why you are getting the speeds you are.  Have you been in touch with VM recently and arranged a new deal?  I'm wondering if you have been moved to the 100Mbps tier as part of a new deal or by accident.

Re: Does anyone hit their target speed? I dont..

There are people on here from VM but they are few and the post on here are many, so they take a few days (up to a week) to get to each thread.

You can try calling in to get it fixed but if you get off shore support you might struggle.
