Do I need a new hub?

Hi there, I have been with Virgin Media for around 4yrs now and still using my original hub given to me when I first signed up.... I have been upgraded to 50mbps and thought that I would notice a difference in my streaming videos which is what I use most of my Fibre internet to do...But I have noticed no difference and still experiencing some buffering? I was wondering if I require a new hub?

Their are many reason streaming videos can buffer.

You don't need a new super hub but if you use router mode you may find rebooting it helps due to router mode. If possible its best to run the super hub you have in modem mode and with your own router which will improve things.

VM super hub/hub are badly done like the hub 3 which you really don't want then again if you don't game the hub 3 can be some what fine.

You are on a superhub1 which you will want to reboot daily to keep it tip top as it has a ramping latency issue on it in router mode.
