Can get 200Mbps in router mode, nut NOT in modem mode?

147Mbps upgraded to vivid200 recently, with new hub3.

setup with my existing Netgear Nighthawk X6 and i cant get 200M speed, only 147 as before. If i connect direct to new hub in router mode, i can get over 200Mbps.

Am I missing some config paramater on my router?

Anyone with similar problem?  Thanks all.

Does just sound like settings of the nighthawk or Quality of Service settings limiting it.

Nighthawk should outperform VM one easily.

has to be a setting on router - you could try a reset or check the lan cable between the hub3 and your router - that needs to be cat5e minimum

Cable is Cat6a.  Smiley Sad

Base spec of the router doesnt say what might be the restriction. [frustrated]

can you save the config for the router if you have personalised settings - if so do that and then press the reset button to take it to factory defaults - see what that does

as to the lan cable - change it anyway if you have a spare just to say its not that

Re: Can get 200Mbps in router mode, nut NOT in modem mode?

Firstly - really appreciate everyone's help - thanks. OK, so I get the same as I've been getting for months with my superhub1. 147Mpbs http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5763283442 I'll check the settings on the X6 when I get some time tomorrow am but I cant see anything unusual. I've rebooted everything, but not put the X6 back to factory defaults yet. I'm running some wireless devices off the X6 and have wired connections to a Vonage hub (1 phone) and a Polycom desk phone and another netgear router acting as an AP in the loft and this desktop PC which is my primary (Win10, 16Gb ram, i7, loads of SSD disk) Thanks again all. pcp

Re: Can get 200Mbps in router mode, nut NOT in modem mode?

OK - Who mentioned QoS??!  Smiley Happy

Went to the "Advanced - Setup - QoS Setup" page on the router config and reran the speedtest button and got to 194Mbps, then click "Apply".

Now when I run the speedtest in Chrome window I can get >185. Smiley Happy  Happy Bunny.

Will check again in the morning to see if i can get both numbers > 200. (Now done it again and got >200  http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5763746565 )

I guess the QoS was limiting my throughput on Chrome (or actually, overall)

If you have no reason for the QoS you may as well disable it all together

Re: Can get 200Mbps in router mode, nut NOT in modem mode?

i use it to put the voice (Vonage and Polycom  - personal and business) at Highest priorities and daughter 2's video streaming NOT at highest priority! Smiley Happy

Is it worth doing that with 200Mbps ?
