Having recently watched BBC Watched Dog programme regarding Broadband speeds and having recently joined Virgin Media. with the claim of my connection speed of 200 mbps
Two items from the programme caught my interest:
1. to maximise speeds, location of router should not close to other electrical items to reduce possibility of interference, them why did my engineer knowingly locate the router next to my tv and home cinema system, stating this was the best position and this is where they ae normally located.
2.Having tested my internet speed using various tests, the download speed on average in 50mbps & not 200mbps as stated, with uploads speed as stated on the website.
1st item is for wireless really, should not effect wired speeds.
2nd could be an issue in your locality (over utilization)
