Broadband slows to a quarter of what it should be

Hi there.

I have had broadband speeds of 25 Mbit/s instead if 100 Mbit/s.  This has been going on for 5 days now in the Cardiff area.

I rang 150 for support several times but they say it is my pc and there is no problem with my router or in my area.

I have been using speedtest.net to check my speeds on a wired pc and a wired laptop.

25 Mbit/s is what I am getting over the last 4 days.

I have attached the traceroute logs i have run to www.virignmedia.com and here are the results.

I also get similar nodes showing complete packet loss to my team speak server as shown below.

There is something wrong with Virign's network.

I have been reporting these packet loss problems for about a year now but no one believes me.

Please help.

Thanks

Re: Broadband slows to a quarter of what it should be

Hi dwcf,

Thanks for getting in touch, I've been running a few follow up checks on your connection and can see that there has been a fluctuating SNR (noise ingress) problem on your cable which I suspect may have been the issue.

This has now recovered, how are things looking at the moment?

Cheers
