I got my virgin vivid 200 gamer installed two days ago and my average download has been about 52mb/s. The speed can go up to around 80 at night, and i've seen it spike to 180 for a couple of seconds, but it went just as fast as it came and the average download went back down to 40... it has even dropped as low as 8.
It stings when I am at my friends to see they are paying for 50 and are constantly getting 55 (over what they are paying for), so why am I paying for 200 throttled and at some points not even getting over 10. It's a joke so far and the fact I am paying for the gamer package means that I shouldn't see ANY throttling. The YouTube videos I have seen on people reviewing the "gamer" service all consistently get over 190 down in their videos, so how do I get virgin to give me what i'm paying for!.
- Tests done via 5Ghz wifi channel and wired connection to my PC via two different Ethernet cables. Definitely the connection coming in that is the problem.
However, there are quite a few T3, SYNC and lost MDDs in the error log with a T4 error showing a disconnection. The logs only span a short time (exluding the time warp to 1970 ) so nothing conclusive can be drawn, but the general picture does not look good.
A VM Forum Team member should pick up the thread in about a week and can take a closer look at your connection. You can always phone in for a quicker response.
In the meantime you can start a BQM here to get a more detailed picture on how your connection is performing. You will need to dysable the hub 3's firewall though.
Still fluctuating like hell, virgin won't help me though because it does on occasion hit 200 (despite all the low tests). Apparently that means "everything is fine on their end". NOTE: I'm not in a high utilisation area
Just ran a couple of tests, no background programs, no other clients connected, all via a cat 6 cable. Look at that F***ing netgraph...
I took my desktop and laptop to a friend who also has virgin vivid 200 gamer for a test, locked 200 result. I haven't tried modem mode but I'm not going to pay for extra equipment when virgins own should be providing the service. I mean what am I paying for.
