Area Reference 15 - Terrible speeds most of the day.

 

The following tests were done this afternoon (around 2:50pm on a Sunday afternoon) with 1 PC in safemode connected via ethernet. No other devices were connected at the time of the test.

 

I pay for 100Mb/s and on average, over a 24 hour period, I get roughly 15% of the speed I should be getting. This has been happening for about 1 year.

 

Please explain why, and when a resolution will be provided.

I am sorry to hear that these slow speed issues are still persisting for you, I can imagine this must be frustrating for you so apologies for any inconvenience caused.

 

I've tested your connection and I can see that we are planning to undertake some upgrades to parts of our external network in your area, the upgrades will be to improve bandwidth and performance during peak hours.

 

The reference number for the upgrade works is F003018799 and is coming up for review on 25/11/15, for any further updates on the upgrade works just post back here closer to the date and we'll gladly take another look for you.

Soo glad I'm not the only one...

Also in area 15 and broadband has been getting slower and slower over last few months - some recent tests:

20-11-2015 22:03:54 (GMT) 0.6 Mbps 0.2 Mbps
20-11-2015 22:01:54 (GMT) 5.3 Mbps 1.5 Mbps
20-11-2015 21:58:23 (GMT) 4.0 Mbps 1.4 Mbps

So slow now I can't use any of Virgin's media services that need the intranet even taking part in this forum on my mobile network - Virgin just keep telling me everything tests fine... Not good enough!

It's over due to an over subscription in our area.

For me it's been going on for over 1 year. Each time they set a date it keeps getting pushed back.

Apparently the next "review" date is 25th November. Assuming they keep to their word this time (they wont'!) that only means the'll look to see if they can fix the problem, not actually do anything about it.

In short.. they will continue to take your money, knowing full well that they have continued to sell to customs despite the area being over subscribed already.

Im also in area 15 and I spoke to someone from virgin an hour ago and he told me it is due to be reviewed (what ever that means) on 9th Dec.

He also told me the problem in this area started in Feb so it's been 8 months and still no fix.

Im on the 200Mbps package and getting 4Mbps, it's a joke

The only thing worse then Virgin medias terrible broadband speeds is there awful customer service
