Area 28 - Bad speed after new Virgin fiber 50

Hello,

I'm experiencing low speed in area 28.

The download speed is 2.10 Mbps

The upload speed is very very low 0.41 Mbps

I have done the test multiple time during the day, same results, it is slow.

Is there an issue with the area 28 ?

Thanks

Re: Area 28 - Bad speed after new Virgin fiber 50

Hi there, Im in Area 28 also and yesterday my download speeds were 0.01Mbps though my uploads speeds were not affected. I think there were issues in that Area yesterday as my BB is back to normal.

Re: Area 28 - Bad speed after new Virgin fiber 50

Apparently there is a rule of virgin media traffic management , what does it change to the uplaod speed ? Is it 1gb max per hour between 4pm and 11pm ?

Re: Area 28 - Bad speed after new Virgin fiber 50

Hello Area511

Welcome to our forum, I am sorry to hear you are experiencing slow speeds we will do our best to help. The line and hub test good and the area traffic is low. There have been no applications of traffic management to your connection by the way so that  does not seem to be a factor Virgin Media broadband traffic management policy

The only thing I notice is at the moment all you devices seem to be wireless. Wireless is not a good medium for speed I am afraid, we have a guide here that explains more Getting the best Wireless Network Signal

The best way to measure speed is with a wired connection using www.speedtest.net leaving the default server.

Thank you

Nicola
