Area 12 Very slow almost non existent broadband in evenings

I am hardly getting any speed in evenings, I have the 50mb package and a film I am downloading was fine until it for to 61% which took 30 minutes, then after 2 hours it has only gone to 63% this is not an isolated case though and happens almost every night.

Sorry to hear about the problems you're having with your connection, it does sound very frustrating.

 

I've just taken a look and I can see that we're currently in the process of resolving a fault in your area. The fault ref is: F004116807 and it's due for review on the 25th Jan. This type of fault can be responsible for reducing the speeds during peak times (evenings and weekends) and to rectify this we need to undertake upgrades on the network to support the level of demand in your area. 

 

I believe this fault is responsible for the problems you're experiencing.

Still very slow in evenings, I have to switch to using my phones personal hotspot 4g most of the time. I cant even watch youtube videos without it buffering let alone netflix!

I've checked this for you and I can see that you're still being affected by the same fault ticket mentioned by Heather_J (F004116807), with a new review date set for 01/11/2017.

This is just not good enough! I cant use my broadband! I am paying for something I am not receiving and all I am told everytime is there is a fault that needs investigating! By that date it will have been over a year without it being "investigated", rediculous! I will be contacting Watchdog and my MP about Virgin Media's services. It is criminal I am paying for something I cannot use!

Let's face it, there is no way in hell you, or anyone in a similar oversubscribed area, is going to get this fixed. This forum is absolutely riddled with similar horror stories. VM (Liberty Global, our so-called american cousins) have sunk to an all time low for customer complaint resolution. Their very public immoral practices are, quite frankly, disgusting. Move if you can.
