4mbps on a 200meg download package.

Recently had a virgin engineer out who gave me a new super hub 3 alongside an amplifier for the co axial splitter. However now my download speed is now a fraction of what it originally was. Currently on a 200mg package and only receiving 4mbps via ethernet.

Re: 4mbps on a 200meg download package.

Posting some basic diagnostic info may help.

Navigate to the hub's GUI using http://192.168.100.1
Don't log in, click the Router Status button in the top right of the screen.
Copy \ Paste the Downstream, Upstream, and Network Logs.

Don't worry about the formatting, but do obscure personal information like your WAN IP address.

Do you experience the slow speed all the time or only during evening peak?

Re: 4mbps on a 200meg download package.

Power levels and SNR look fine.

The logs don't say much apart from a fimware corruption warning as there is only 2 hours worth of logs.

It would be worth rebooting the router and checking the logs. What firmware are you on?

It might be worth temporarily removing the amplifier to rule it out of the equation.

It might be worth starting a BQM monitor here to give a more detailed picture on how your connection is performing.

A VM Forum Team member should pick up the thread in about a week and can take a closer look at your connection with their diagnostic tools.

Re: 4mbps on a 200meg download package.

Hey Crims,

Thanks for getting in touch Smiley Happy

Sorry to hear about the slow speeds you're getting, I know this is frustrating. I've checked your connection and nothing is standing out in error. Are you testing your wireless or Ethernet connection? Ideally we will need to see speed test results tested from a hard-wired laptop or PC.

Please get back to us so we can continue to investigate.

Take care.
