3 Problems

First time post.

Hi All , recently i have had the following problems.

1. Crackling on my phone line.

2. laptop is 2 meters away from router , but still buffers when watching you tube videos , speed 70 mbs.

3. Tivo box running very slow also. 

any help would be greatly appreciated , Thank you , Brian.

tivo runs slow anyways and it can take week or 2 weeks for staff to answer on here you better ringing up

The laptop + you tube issue could be due to laptop spec / choice of browser,/ adblocker overheads/  youtube HD settings. run with task manager open & see how well your CPU is coping. if you see 90% CPU then there's your issue

also, what spec is your laptop wifi- if it only has wireless g then it cannot match the hub for speed.

 how are the same you tube videos on your tivo ?

atm i would not recommand useing you tube with tivo it lags with me still

i would not recommend you tube on tivo either, normally, but as a direct comparison with the problem laptop, it could be a useful one-off test, since the Tivo route does not use wi-fi or use the hub

Thank you for your reply . I ran you tube on 720 hd and my cpu was reading approx 50 .

Welocme to the forums, I'm sorry to see you have been having trouble with your services. 

 

I have taken a look at your connection and it seems that you are affected by fault ref F004863624 for SNR and FECS (Signal to Noise Ratio and Forward Error Corrections). 

 

This is currently with the engineers and they hope to have this resolved by 14/11/2016. I will keep an eye on this for you and let you know as soon as I know more. Looking at the fault it seems to be affecting both TV and Broadband. Once the issue has been resolved we will take another look at your connection to make sure there are no other underlying issues.

Just a quick update on fault ref F004863624 for SNR and FECS. This is now looking much better from this side.

Broadband still sluggish .I'm only 2 meters from my hub and it buffers you tube videos , even when on the lowest quality setting for viewing.

I have taken a look and things seem ok from this side.
