150mb Broadband but only receiving 50mb speed

Hello, I recently got upgraded the broadband to 150 fibre optic (yesterday), but I'm still only receiving the speeds I got when I was on my last package (100) which is around 50-60. Do I need to have a new Super Hub sent? I still have the original Super Hub.

I've checked the configuration on the router status, it reads as;

Max Traffic Rate110100000 bps
Max Traffic Burst42600 bytes

Thanks. Smiley Happy

50-60 is typical wireless speeds for 2.4ghz, you need a superhub 2 or greater to realistically achieve over 100 wireless

And/or devices that support above your current speeds. You may still be hitting your wireless ceiling.

Your upgrade hasn't gone through yet though, but if it's wireless it won't make a difference.

So, I'm guessing I need a new HUB then? Thanks for the replies.

Re: 150mb Broadband but only receiving 50mb speed

Your configuration shows you are still on 100Mbps

You will need MIMO capable wireless devices to get 150Mbps wireless speeds, ideally 5Ghz capable, what devices are you using to connect wirelessly?

In theory the SH1 should be able to do round 150Mbps wirelessly as it uses two wireless stream (MIMO) and can support channel bonding to give a max Link speed of 300Mbps. However, the SH1 is a woefully underpowered device, so upgrading to a SH2 or SH2ac would be wise. You would also get simultaneous 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz bands.

Re: 150mb Broadband but only receiving 50mb speed

VM won't provision a SH1 with the 150Mbs profile so it can't do 150 at all (it is capable though)

Re: 150mb Broadband but only receiving 50mb speed

Hey JaniceDepp,

Thanks for posting and a warm welcome to the community Smiley Very Happy

Sorry to hear about your slow speeds, I know it's disappointing when you don't receive the upgrade you're expecting.

I'll need to get new kit out to you, I'll drop you a PM (purple envelope, top right) to confirm your address.

Speak with you soon,

Take care.
