150Mbs do i need new hardware?

Hi Guys,

Just a couple of questions regarding virgin speed boosting my service... I've been upgraded to 150Mbs.

Today i had constant disconnections and kids have been complianing about disconnects for past few days on xbox one. I phoned VM and so far so good the issue seems to have improved/fixed.

I then done some speed tests. on broadband speed checker.

These are the results 247ms ping 57.07 Mb/s down 11.34 Mb/s up

Are the above speed results what i should expect from 150mbs speed?

I have the Super Hub 2ac do I need new hardware to recieve 150mbs download speed?

Thanks for any help

scott

only my laptop connected on wifi when test run and anti virus off

The 2ac is capable of doing 150Mbps under most conditions, but whether you get this on a wireless device will be down to multiple factors.

First thing will be what wireless hardware is in your laptop. Can you post this please?

60Mbps is a decent speed for wireless n. You could try to buy a USB wireless ac dongle for your laptop.

I use one of these on my PC and can download at the full 200Mbps (When utilisation allows!).
