100mb giving less than 10mb

Been flaky all day in the HP1 area, wired and wireless download speeds via speedtest.net averaging between 3-10Mbps.

Done all the usual re-boots of the superhub etc but no difference, if anything its getting worse, SKY box connected via ethernet struggling with anything on demand as the download speeds are so slow.

Re: 100mb giving less than 10mb

Hi sharpcroft

Thanks for posting. I'm very sorry to hear that you are experiencing slow speeds. I've run a few checks and I can see that there is currently a fault ticket raised for peak time contention (F003613088). There is a review date estimated for 24/02/2016. If you are able to bump the thread a little closer to the review date we can certainly check for any updates on this ticket. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards

What speeds do you get at midnight?

Try this speedtest.

And what exactly is a review date anyway - it's certainly NOT a fix date. My guess is they sit around and say "Errmmm there isn't the budget to fix that... ah well let's leave it and hope the problem goes away by itself".

Doesn't this reply just sum up Virgins attitude to customers, ie: you're paying top dollar for a service, which cannot be delivered so suffer until 3 weeks time when we might be able to supply you what you pay for, no sorry, here's a small reduction to account for us taking your money under false pretences, just a pay up and shut up attitude.

Standard, 19:10 and speeds are unusable.

Yet again, peak time (8:15pm) and things have ground to a halt, this has been going on too long now.

Re: 100mb giving less than 10mb

20:30 terrible speeds yet again, can one of the mods please give me an update on this, £10 a month discount is all well and good but as i an averaging 1/10th of the speed i pay for surely i should only be paying 1/10th of the cost until it is fixed? @Kev_B @Ty_S ?
