Virus Alert

Hi

Several weeks ago i got an email from VM 'Your device may have a virus', I thought this may be a scam, but a few days later I got a letter with similar content. I have 2 PCs, 2 Laptops and an Android Phone. All have 'free' AVs. I scanned all devices, with no problems reported. I decided to remove all AV software and replace them with F-Secure. Once installed I performed a full scan and again no problems reported.

I have now received another email stating that I have not successful removed the threat or I have been re-infected. I have performed another full scan of all devices with no problems reported.

Any advice what to do next would be most welcome.

Thanks

Re: Virus Alert

Try Malwarebytes (the free versions) for your devices. Also use your favoured search engine to find more information about the reported virus infection to see how best to tackle it.

Re: Virus Alert

email from VM 'Your device may have a virus'

I doubt that virgin send any such emails - they don't "do" email.

post the email text if you still have it - as it may be fake

or does this ring a bell - the "device" may not be a PC!
