no idea what your AV program is seeing or how it thinks the router has been compromised - if the password is wrong then have you changed it in the past - if so are you sure you are typing the right password - if you are it may be that the router has reset and reverted to the original password
Thanks for quick reply. It's Avast AV and it's saying that my router has weak password that is probably default and that router is compromised. It's right about password as it can show me it.That's why I'm worried about router. I did change password so I can't be sure if I'm using the right one.I've tied every p/w that I can think of.I would be grateful of any assistance.
if you cannot remember the password assuming you have changed it press and hold the reset button for a good 30sec - that will take the settings back to default - any and all settings you have changed will be lost - the login and wifi passwords are then on the label on the base of the router - log in with those and change them to anything you want
Yes I have definitely changed password a couple of years ago,I will do as you advise and take it back to default settings. Too late to do it tonight so I will do it tomorrow and will let you know how I get on. Thank you very much for your quick reply and clear instructions.
