PHISHING-Your latest Virgin Media Bill cannot be processed

Got this one yesterday - the email was sent to an address I have with VM but not the email address for my account/billing. Anyhow, my accounts up to date and paid.

Yeah, this one appears quite regularly.  I've had loads.  But I'm not worried, I've been promised $350,000,000 from a nice lady in Nigeria so I'll be able to pay my VM bills a year in advance from now on.     Smiley Wink

Re: PHISHING-Your latest Virgin Media Bill cannot be processed

Hi Dave

First time for me and I cannot remember the last time I had an offer from Nigeria - must have been back in the days of the Microsoft newsgroups. What was a surprise is that VM did not spot this when it arrived in the web mail - not even a hint it might be spam - I have found their spam filter to be quite good.

I'm finding that much more spam has been getting through VM's filters lately.  I use Mailwasher Pro in front of an email client (Windows Live Mail) so they are easily dealt with and deleted before downloading any mail, but it's still a slight annoyance.

Re: PHISHING-Your latest Virgin Media Bill cannot be processed

One of my five email addresses gets spam but 99% get caught by VM. The other addresses get nothing. I use Thunderbird as my email client - used to use Live Mail four years ago. I have never used Mailwasher, though I do know it is quite efficient.

For most of my 'shopping' I use a 'thow-away' email to avoid unwanted spam.
