My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

A client contacted me to say my website ( www.soulfulreflection.co.uk) is web safe blocked by Virgin media filter. It says that is has pornographic content, violence, use of drugs, suicide, etc??

I cannot understand how a wedding photography and videography website can be blocked for being unsafe for children with that description.

I suspect that this was the act of a jealous competitor that is trying to damage us, since wedding photography is a over saturated and overly competitive market,i still think a website shouldn't be blacklisted without being reviewed first.

I am looking for information on how to remove the website from this blacklist and not on how to disable safety filters from my clients connection.

Thank you.

Re: My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

is your site on a dedicated server or shared hosting. If its shared it will be the IP address that is being blocked as other sites on the same server may be unsafe.
This happens alot and the only way to stopit is to have full control of the IP address you use. This is why i use dedicated servers for all my sites so i am not sharing the IP with others.

Re: My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

Hi, it's being hosted in smugmug which is a host for photographers. I've just tested multiple smugmug hosted websites hosted in the same host and they aren't affected.

Re: My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

Just researched into which server my website is on (208.79.45.23) and other websites on that host open with Virgin filters without problems

Re: My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

So I'm forced to change the host of my website. I can't afford to block a big cut of virgin users with such blacklist warning messages

Re: My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

not clued up on any of this but i am on VM and just been looking at your site - no blocks came up for me

assuming i am on the right side - the copyright notice at the bottom of the page says

Ipswich, Suffolk Wedding Photographer and Videographer

© 2012-2017 - Bruno Lazaro - Soulful Reflection - [mobile number]

nothing conclusive there but maybe you need to check back with whoever reported it was blocked

Re: My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

Your client should report the issue as a false positive by clicking the Let us know link highlighted below:

2017-01-29-00.jpeg

AFAICS, websites are reclassified if appropriate.

BTW, your website is still blocked (18:07)

Re: My wedding photography website is blocked by web safe

My father has virgin media and I emailed them for removal of false positive. But read that emailing them doesn't really do anything.
Still curious on how it got blacklisted in the first place though.
