Re: Help me please

It's a wise move to install Internet security and cheap to buy if you search on ebay   http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=internet+security&_sop=15

Re: Help me please

good security can be had for free. e.g. Panda, AVG, AVS, basic Malwarebytes, even windows defender will  stop some things.

but most malware gets in via greed/stupidity.  yes you really did win this free.... just click here, and this email really does have nude pictures of... just open the attachment. that's before we get to to view this tasty porn your video player needs an upgrade... OK - where do I click.

Re: Help me please

also, if people follows Microsoft's advice: ( but no-one does )

your all-powerful admin account is only for when you need to install stuff, / configure windows and should be password protected.

all day to day work & play should be done while logged into a standard user account with UAC enabled. That denies almost all malware the power to silently install. Never OK any install or upgrade unless you know exactly who is offering it to you. A free install of Crypto Prevent from foolish IT will immunise against much of the ransomware that is out there.

don't touch snake oil registry cleaners, speed up your PC utilities or Scanguard !

I have a lifetime sub to Malwarebytes pro on 2 machines, that has never failed us yet.

Re: Help me please

yes you don't do a system restore if you have a virus. that just travels back in time too. you get rid of the virus. you delete ALL restore points then create a new one.

Re: Help me please

i'm not going to argue if people dont understand what system restore is. and yes you still need to remove the infected files but its easier when they are not running.

Good luck with the advice hope you haven't let it get to bad listening to advice that wont work.

Re: Help me please
