Week without internet

So moved home and wanted virgin internet at my new address only to discover the connection inside the house has been took apart, rang up virgin and it's going to take 8 days for an engineer to come to my address to rectify,seems a long wait for a customer of 9 years. Is this an usual waiting time to get back online ?

I am sorry to hear that you're having issues with your internet being down for a week, I apologise for any inconvenience.

 

I have tried to test things from here, however I was unable to locate any of your details via your forum account. In order to proceed with diagnostics I require some information from you.
