Turn off Advanced Search

I don't know why, because it never used to happen, but if I type in a wrong URL to my desktop PC browser I get an annoying Virgin Media Advanced Search page ( redacted ID and URL )  -

http://advancedsearch2.virginmedia.com/main?ParticipantID=XXXXX&FailedURI=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.XXXX&Fail...

On that page it says "This service is optional and you can switch it off here", where "here" is a link to -

http://www.virginmedia.com/myvirginmedia/advancederror/

Which is a 404 "Oh, crikey. We can't find that page".

So how exactly do I turn Advanced Search off ?

Re: Turn off Advanced Search

[ Edit : Missed Graham_A's reply, while trying to fix things myself. Thanks; that was the route to the solution ]

I did find this page ....

https://my.virginmedia.com/advancederrorsearch/settings

To change your selection, use the buttons below:
(O) Yes - I would like to use the advanced network error search
(O) No - I would not like to use the advanced network error search

But when I click No and Save I get an error alert; "The advanced network error search is already switched off".

But enter "http:\\www.this.is.utterly.ridiculous" in the address bar and up pops the Advanced search.

Clicked Yes, Save, then went back to No, Save, and that seems to have done the job.

Re: Turn off Advanced Search

The Advanced Search has suddenly kicked in, now when I try and access an outlook webmail site by typing in url, it fails and is redirected to the VM Advanced Search page that suggests search results for a jumbled group of letters taken from the url. On trying to turn the Advanced Search off it says "Oops somethings broken"

Is there some VM program on my laptop I have to uninstall to stop this happening, I can't find anything on my laptop in any setting or program that I can change or remove to stop this happening.

The outlook webmail is work related and I work form home, this is just unacceptable.

Graham
