Start up

On receipt of start up kit. Do I simply connect to my existing phone line. Previously with Sky talk and away we go? Or doesvirgin need to reactivate the line or chat to sky or What?

No you can't use your existing phone line as the Virgin Media service is supplied down dedicated cables not phone lines.  If you don't already have VM cable installed (there would be a brown box on the outside wall and a white connection box on the inside of the property) then you will need to arrange for an installation team to visit and pull a cable from the street cabinet to your property.   That's assuming your even in a VirginMedia service area.

I do have an old NTel cable from the street via a box inside and outside. Will this suffice to connect with quick start up?

The question is whether this old cable is still actively connected to the street cabinet.

You could try it with a startup kit but if it doesn't work then it will definitely need an engineer.
