Splitter to Superhub coax termination

Hi,

Taking advantage of VM's 'free' Tivo box for 12 months offer, I've now received the Tivo box and have just unpacked all the bits and I'm about to install the splitter to an existing Superhub 2ac which has previously only supplied a broadband service.

Following the instructions, I've unscrewed the coax from the back of the SH2 and have then screwed this into the 'wall' input on the splitter. The instructions then say take a new piece of coax (2 were supplied, 1 with a blue collar, 1 with yellow, both came in a sealed bag along with the splitter, nothing else) and push one end into the 'broadband' input on the splitter (ok, done this) and then 'push' the other end back into your existing broadband kit.

Both new coax cables only have push style terminators, they are not threaded so could someone explain to me how I 'push' a non threaded terminator onto the threaded connector of my SH2 !!!!

Have I missed something glaringly obvious ?!!!

Re: Splitter to Superhub coax termination

They should just literally push on and 'cling onto' the threads.  If the fit seems wrong, try reversing the cable and use the other end.

Re: Splitter to Superhub coax termination

Thanks for the speedy reply Dave.

Can't they afford threaded terminators ?!! 😉

That seems a really bodged way to do it...I'll give it another go 😯

I think it's a cheap and nasty method of making connections.  VM make a big song and dance about poor connections introducing noise into the network and then they go and supply this rubbish.  Go figure!   Smiley Frustrated
