Service failure following upgrade

Our road was upgraded to 200 Mbps yesterday which is great except our service has now failed completely whilst all our neighbours have the new high speed service - contacted customer service to be told it will a week to fix and I should use an alternative internet source in the meantime? Every response totally scripted with no offer to resolve quickly as obviously an engineer error - is there anyway to get faster resolution and some honest answers rather than a like it or lump it response?
