Router noise

Hi there,

I'm new to the forums. I have the Virgin Superhub router 1.

I have this running on modem mode, that's connected to an Asus router.

I don't know if I've always had this issue but I've only started to notice it recently. The virgin media superhub seems to be making an annoying electrical noise.

I don't know where its coming from, although looking at a few threads, it looks like it's maybe an issue with the plug/psu?

Is there a fix to this problem ?

Thanks & Regards,

Andy

Re: Router noise

Hi Andy,

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear there's an electrical noise coming from the Super Hub.

Can you confirm the Super Hub is connected directly to a wall mounted power socket and not an extension lead?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks

Re: Router noise

Hi there, It is not connected via an extension. It is connected to a wall in my study and is on the floor.

Re: Router noise

Hi Andy,

Thanks for confirming that. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something as simple as an extension.

I can confirm I've sent a replacement Super Hub power supply unit. It will take 3-5 days to arrive.

Please let us know if this resolves the problem.

Thanks

Re: Router noise

Just to confim, even though it was back in 2015, this fixed the issue. A new adapter fixed the issue which I still use to this day

Re: Router noise

Hi Sarah,

Could you confirm if the noise is from the Hub or power supply unit, more commonly it's the PSU that's the issue.

Cheers
