No connection with Hub 3.0 to XP PC with ethernet

Hi

Yesterday I upgraded to the Hub 3.0. All the wireless devices connect fine, as does a Humax HDR which is connected via ethernet. The PC running on XP, and also connected over ethernet does not!

The PC shows as being connected with 1 Gbps, but can't access the net. It is connected with a cable with a proven record of use which I have tried in various ports. I am yet to try another lead, as I don't have another long enough.

Please advise.

Ennui.

By default its set to DHCP so some one put them numbers in their you saying its not you?

You can open the networking control for the interface open properties for TCP/IPv4 and set to get a IP auto.

Well, the ping just timed out on all four tries!

And ipconfig gave me the below:ipconfig.gif

Well I have good news and bad.

The good news is your not connected to the hub 3 because its router mode LAN is 192.168.0.1.
The bad news is...well I don't know what your connected too... wait DHCP is set to no?

No, I wasn't aware I had to. How do I do that, and what do I set it to?

Re: No connection with Hub 3.0 to XP PC with ethernet

Hi - I'm using  a "super hub" with SSID 2143167 and am getting the same sort of problem. When i use the ipconfig command I get a message saying that the IP routing is not enabled and that under Ethernet NIC I get a message saying that Dhcp is enabled and autoconfiguration is enabled.

What is peculiar is that I am able to open some websites using internet explorer but other connections fail (eg www.google.co.uk).

If I open network connections in the start menu I get told that the Broadband connection is disconnected, firewalled but that a local area connection is connected (RealtekTL8139xfamily....) and that 1394 Connection is connected , Firewalled.

Do you think this is the same problem as in the string on this forum. If so how do I set to get IP auto?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Mike
