No broadband

Hi all,
Broadband and catch up/on demand are not working. After testing the connection it says "network cable unplugged" but everything is plugged in!! Any help or advice greatly received!!

Has the service worked previously or was this a QuickStart / Self Install ? 

(ie; Has it just suddenly went off or never worked?)
