New installation- socket move

Hi

Had broadband installed yesterday and the engineers chose the socket in the living room to connect everything up to. They said there is another in the main bedroom too behind the blank faceplate.

Issue I have is that I don't get wifi in opposite corner of house to the router, but if it had been connected in the bedroom (which is central) them I'm pretty sure wifi would cover everywhere required.

Is it possible for me to take the wall socket off and move it up to the bedroom? Is it as simple as that? Would I need the box outside rewired too?

Thanks

Re: New installation- socket move

Hello Gratch,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Forum Smiley Very Happy

Sorry to hear about your limited wireless connection, I know it's frustrating. It really does depend on your set-up and if the coax point is active in the bedroom. I'll drop you a PM (purple envelope, top right) so we can look into this further.

Take care.

It's been a few days since we last spoke so I just wanted to pop by and see how you're getting on.

Let me know if you still need help with this.

Take care.
