New customer in Virgin area, check showing not available

Hi, in need of urgent assistance.

Scenario:

Address is cabled, cable is in my house, the previous occupant even left a TiVo remote for some weird reason

I live in 91a, on virgin's techcheck on the site, it isn't available

Number's 89, 90, 91, 92 etcetc are available to order.

Who or where do I go or talk to to have an order placed.

The coax cable is in 3 different rooms in the house, my next door neighbour in 91a has virgin too, obviously a database/system mismatch of some kind.

Also, I work for Openreach, come at me bro

Re: New customer in Virgin area, check showing not available

slightly confused - you live at 91a - your next door neighbor at 91a - finger trouble i would think ? - that apart have you tried ordering the quickstart pack if cable is already installed - they may just send everything out

failing that you need a spotter to come and have a look - the VM people here should be able to help with that - currently taking them about a week to get to threads

No, it's a maisonette, the cabling is there and there was an active VM service talking to the router that has been left merely weeks ago.

Should I call sales, I really doubt they will have the training to answer the question (not against VM, just call centres in general are unhelpful)

Re: New customer in Virgin area, check showing not available

as i said above will the system not allow you to order a self install pack - if it was working a week ago it should simply all connect and work

Re: New customer in Virgin area, check showing not available

Tony, when I enter my postcode in the first step of the order journey, it redirects me to a screen you cannot go any further than.

The "Cable my Street" screen.

I don't move in until June 1st, I've got time on my side here, what is your best recommendation, call VM? Wait for response from VM?

Re: New customer in Virgin area, check showing not available

wait for VM they will get here in a week or so - they should be able to sort it - stay away from ordering online - afaik not all the deals are shown there - phoning should also sort it - there must be a way of cross referencing the old install with the address

Re: New customer in Virgin area, check showing not available

Appreciate the heads up Tony but I'm not after some crazy deal, the prices online are more than fair against the level of service they deliver, the technology underground that is, not customer service

Gonna call in when I get a minute and see what they say

Re: New customer in Virgin area, check showing not available

New development

Despite the cables being in my house, and a TiVo box being left plugged in

The website says no, so I can't have service.

Ps, customer service over the phone is an absolute joke.
Ps, Live chat customer service is an absolute joke.
