Moving Router

I have the main terminal for Virgin coming into the upstairs of my house, which feeds the modem and used to feed the V+ box until we switched it off, and then the Tivo downstairs is fed from another terminal on the wall in the living room.

Can I take the splitter off the upstairs terminal, put it on the downstairs one and run the modem and Tivo off that wall point, or does the modem have to come off the main terminal? It would be convenient for me to have the modem downstairs, as so many things to do with the TV have ethernet ports...

Re: Moving Router

Should be fine,I would ensure that any open ended cables are capped off though.

Re: Moving Router

Thanks, one more question though, does the splitter need to go onto the terminal or can it go on the end of the long cable that currently goes into the Tivo? If I could get away with not having to lay another cable under the carpet, that would be good...
