May have accidently broken router while trying to fix it

Internets been going on and off the last week so I took the wire out the back and while putting it back in the metal thing in the back of the router you insert the internet cable in has become loose. Not sure what to do now, would I have to pay for this?

Depends where it is loose.

Is it the socket fixed to the modem that is loose?  Or is the plug loose on the cable?  Or does the plug need screwing up tighter to the modem? .

It's the metal thing on the router that you connect the wire to that came loose. It's all been sorted out now, they're sending over a new router.
