Internet connection dropping

My connection drops for no reason on a regular basis. Drives the family crazy. Any ideas or is this just a crap service?

Re: Internet connection dropping

All of your levels look absolutely fine, no T3 or T4 timeouts, I can't see an obvious problem, may I suggest you setup a thinkbroadband ping quality monitor (google it) its a free service that pings your Hub and makes sure the connection is alive, it graphs it all so we can see if and when it drops, you will need to login to your router and disable the firewall, then it will work fine and is very enlightening for diagnostics

Re: Internet connection dropping

Can you post the Downstream, Upstream and Network log from your router status? (removing identifying info such as WAN IP and/or MAC address)

Re: Internet connection dropping

How would I get that data?

I am accessing the router but cannot see any such reports. Just a report on connected devices.

Re: Internet connection dropping

Go to your router page, don't login, you should see router status button or something similar, post the downstream section and the upstream section, chuck in the network logs too, I presume you may have a power level issue which can be easily fixed if so.

Re: Internet connection dropping

Can you do us a favour, if you login to think broadband and go to your ping monitor (on the left click tools, ping monitor, and view it, you can then click share live graph, this will generate a link, that can be viewed by anyone at any time without giving away any personal details, post it here, then when you return people can look at it and see whats going on Smiley Happy
