Installing Fibre Optic Broadband into a Ground Floor Flat?

Hey Guys,

Virgin Media are installing cable along our street soon and I was wondering how it will work with me being in a flat.

I'm literally on the main road and also across from the exchange which will mean good speeds when it finally arrives, hopefully.
Anyway I'm curious as to how it will be installed in the property.

If anyone has experience similar to this I would be grateful.

Thanks

Re: Installing Fibre Optic Broadband into a Ground Floor Flat?

If you mean the telephone exchange that will be BT / Openreach and has nothing to do with VirginMedia installations who use their own dedicated underground cables.

As for the flat, if it's a rent you will need your landlord's permission to install.  If it's a flat within a block it may well involve a distribution box being needed within the building with internal cabling off to the various flats.

Yeah we currently have a distribution box for the BT lines so it would sense for it to be the same.

There are alot of flats along the road so I assume that Virgin Media will know this and will be prepared for it.
