Installation in a Loft Room

I have booked my installation for Virgin (after being a Sky customer for 17 years!) and looking forward to it

However, I have requested a 2nd box for my bedroom - but this is the loft room

Will the engineers be able to install in the loft room?

Re: Installation in a Loft Room

Hi JCzarnocki,

As long as there is a relativity easy route for the cable to run which is not a huge distance then this should be fine.  The engineers tend only to drill i hole from your external wall to your internal wall to bring in the drop cable but once inside the property cables will usually be run around / along skirting boards etc.

Re: Installation in a Loft Room

Anything is possible!

Before the technician arrives, have a think about what the best route might be. Some technicians will be willing to drill through the eaves, but most will not.

Are there any external walls in the loft? As in, a vertical wall that has the outside of your house directly on the other side? External cable routes can sometimes be the easier option.

If routing the cable externally won't be possible, consider where it might be run internally. Surface mounted to skirting? Through the ceiling in a cupboard perhaps?
